Elbow
- Elbow Arthroscopy An elbow arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure in which the interior of the elbow joint is examined and treated using an arthroscope which is inserted into the joint through a small incision.
- Elbow Dislocations An elbow dislocation occurs when the joint surfaces of an elbow are separated. Although an elbow dislocation is usually very obvious, an x-ray, physical examination, and CT scan or MRI may be used to determine the extent of the injury to plan the necessary course of treatment.
- Golfer’s Elbow Golfer’s Elbow is caused by repetitive motion of the wrist resulting in inflammation. Treatment is usually conservative with the condition rarely requiring surgical intervention.
- Little Leaguer’s Elbow Little League elbow is a condition that is caused by repetitive throwing motions, especially in children who play sports that involve an overhand throw. Treatments for Little League Elbow typically involve a closely monitored rehabilitation plan with surgery being reserved for only the most extreme cases.
- Elbow Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL) A medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury is an uncommon injury to the elbow. Treatment for a MCL tear may include a physical therapy program or surgical intervention, depending on the severity of the injury.
- Tennis Elbow Tennis elbow, or lateral epicondylitis, is a painful condition of the elbow caused by overuse. Treatment is usually conservative with the condition rarely requiring surgical intervention.
Foot & Ankle
- Achilles Tear An achilles tear is an injury to the tendon that connects the calf muscle to the heel bone. It is often caused by an intense force on the back of the heel or from an abrupt stop.
- Achilles Tendonitis Achilles tendonitis is a condition that is caused by inflammation of the Achilles tendon.
- Foot & Ankle Arthritis Arthritis can arise in many forms and cause significant pain and discomfort. Treatment usually begins with non-operative treatments which may include activity modification, medications, and therapy.
- Bunion (Hallux Valgus) Bunions are foot deformities that can be identified by the “bump” at the base of the big toe. Bunions are brought about by years of abnormal motion and pressure on the joint and are a symptom of poor foot development, usually caused by gait, inherited foot type, or poorly fitting shoes.
- Hammertoe A hammertoe is a deformity of the second through fifth toes, in which the toe is bent downward at the joint closest to the end of the toe. This deformity can be hereditary or can be caused by wearing shoes that are too tight.

- Neuromas A neuroma is a benign growth of the nerve frequently found between the third and fourth toes typically due to inflammation which results in pain, tingling, or numbness in the toes and foot.
- Plantar Fasciitis Plantar Fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain.
- Fifth Metatarsal Fractures A fifth metatarsal fracture is a common foot injury in which the bone on the outside of your foot just below the little toe breaks.
- Sprains Sprains and strains are among the most common injuries in sports. A sprain is an injury to the ligaments around a joint.
Hand & Wrist
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Carpal tunnel syndrome is a condition that results from the compression of the median nerve in the wrist leading to pain, numbness, or tingling in the hands and fingers.
- DeQuervain’s Tenosynovitis DeQuervain’s Tenosynovitis is a condition caused by overuse or inflammatory conditions that causes the tendons in the thumb to swell.
- Ganglion Cyst Ganglion cysts are fluid-filled bumps that can appear anywhere in the body but most commonly on the back of the wrist. Although they usually do not cause symptoms, they can occasionally become painful.
- Trigger Finger Trigger Finger is a disorder that causes the finger to catch in a flexed (bent) position, making it difficult to straighten.
Hip
- Femoroacetabular Impingement (FAI) Femoroacetabular Impingement is caused by a deformity of the hip that causes friction in the hip, leading to damage and pain.
- Labral Hip Tear Labral hip tears are injuries to the cartilage around the hip joint. These can occur as a result of repetitive activity or degenerative changes.
- Bursitis Bursitis is caused by repetitive activity that puts stress on the bursae, causing pain and discomfort. Treatment is usually conservative.
- Hip Strains Sprains and strains are among the most common injuries in sports. A sprain is an injury to the ligaments around a joint.
Knee
- Tendon & Muscle Tears Damage to tendons and torn muscles can cause debilitating pain that oftentimes won’t go away without expert care. Treatment can include surgical and non-surgical methods, depending on the type of injury and its severity.
- Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL) Tear The Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL) is one of the four major ligaments of the knee. Treatment for PCL tears is often non-surgical.
- Meniscus Tear Meniscus tears are a common knee injury that often occurs when the knee is twisted when bent resulting in a torn cartilage. The menisci help protect the knee from arthritic changes and should therefore be treated if torn.
- Loose Bodies Loose bodies are bits of bone, cartilage or other tissue that have broken free and are floating within the knee, which may or may not cause symptoms.
- Lateral Collateral Ligament (LCL) Lateral collateral ligament (LCL) injury is an injury to the ligament on the outer side of the knee. It can be a stretch, partial tear, or complete tear of the ligament, and often does not require surgical intervention.
- Knee Arthroscopy An arthroscopy is a limited incision procedure that allows for the minimally invasive repair of many orthopedic conditions. The arthroscope is a camera that is introduced into the joint.
- Knee Arthritis Arthritis can arise in many forms and cause significant pain and discomfort. Treatment usually begins with non-operative treatments which may include activity modification, medications, and therapy.
- Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) An ACL tear is an injury to a ligament in the knee that all too commonly occurs during sports or other activities that involve pivoting or other twisting movements.
- Knee Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL) The Medical Collateral Ligament (MCL) is a wide band of tissue in the inner part of the knee that can become damaged from outside impact to the knee. In most cases, an injury to the medial collateral ligament heals using non-surgical therapies.
Podiatry
- Plantar Warts Plantar warts are warts on the sole of the foot that can become quite painful. These should not be treated at home as it can cause damage to the surrounding tissue and increase the risk of spreading the virus.
- Plantar Fasciitis (Heel Pain) Plantar fasciitis is a common cause of heel pain that is caused by too much stress on the foot from activity and/or improperly fitting shoes.
- Ingrown Toenails Ingrown toenails are a common condition where the corners of the nail dig painfully into the toe leading to swelling, pain, inflammation or redness, and infection. These should be treated quickly to prevent further infection.
- Charcot (Rocker-Bottom) Foot A charcot foot is a foot with bone and joint damage that has led to a weakening of the bones, joints, and soft tissues in the foot. This rare condition affects persons with peripheral neuropathy.
Shoulder
- Rotator Cuff Tears The rotator cuff is a group of four muscles that come together to attach the humerus to the shoulder blade. A torn rotator cuff tear is a common cause of shoulder pain in adults that may weaken your shoulder and cause many daily activities to become difficult and painful to accomplish.
- Night Pain Nighttime shoulder pain can be some of the most disruptive pain to a person’s life and can be caused by rotator cuff tears or shoulder impingement, along with a number of other conditions.
- Labral (Slap, Bankart) Tears The shoulder labrum is a ring of cartilage that surrounds the shoulder joint. The labrum helps to keep the ball of the upper arm bone (the humerus) in place. A labral tear can happen when there is a sudden trauma to the shoulder or when it is overused and starts to wear down.
- Shoulder Impingement Shoulder impingement is a condition in which the tendons and bursa of the rotator cuff become compressed between the head of the humerus and the acromion process (a bony projection on either side of the scapula).
- Shoulder Dislocation A dislocated shoulder is an injury in which the upper arm bone pops out of the cup-shaped socket that’s part of the shoulder. This can happen when a person falls on their arm and their body weight pushes it over to one side. It can also happen when someone falls on their hand and tries to catch themselves with their other hand, or when they are trying to break a fall with one arm.
- Shoulder Arthroscopy An arthroscopy is a limited incision procedure that allows for the minimally invasive repair of many orthopedic conditions.
- Acromioclavicular (AC) Joint Arthritis The AC (acromioclavicular) joint is the joint where the collar bone meets the shoulder blade. It develops when the cartilage in the joint begins to wear out. Arthritis in the AC joint can prevent a person from completing ordinary tasks, particularly involving overhead activity.
Spine
- Spondylolysis (Pars Stress Fracture) Spondylolysis is the weakening or stress fracture in one or more of the vertebrae. This is often seen in adolescents who engage in sports that involve repeated stress on the lower back.
- Sciatica Sciatica is the radiating pain caused by a pinched nerve in the spine. Usually, this resolves with nonsurgical treatment as directed by a doctor.
- Cervical Radiculopathy Cervical Radiculopathy involves a compressed nerve in the cervical spine (neck) that causes pain that may radiate into the shoulder and arm. It is a common source of shoulder pain.
